What I Do

I am passionate about developing people and empowering them to achieve success. I also believe that environments play an important role in this, so my mission is to create personal and organizational performance environments that promote sustainability in athlete health, for both competitive success and personal well-being, through the development of support systems, people and culture. 

My belief is that athlete health should not be compromised in the pursuit of performance, and that with the targeted application of bespoke performance support strategies and systems, we can create environments that cultivate talent, optimise health, promote performance longevity, and breed success.

I believe that environments empower people, cultivate talent, and breed success. I’m passionate about creating performance environments for both athletes and organizations that focus on optimizing athlete health and well-being, and promote performance sustainability, through the ongoing development of support systems, people and culture.

To prevent the long-term injury and poor health that frequently results from competing in elite sport, my mission is to prioritize and protect athletes’ health throughout their career and in so doing, promote performance longevity. This can be targeted at individuals through personalized performance support coaching; and at organisations, through the development of high performance departments and support teams that are focused on optimising athlete health and well-being.

I am passionate about optimizing the health and performance of athletes – whether that’s individual female triathletes, or whole teams in sports clubs, institutes and organisations.

I love working with women who know they have the potential to perform, but are hindered by a loss of motivation, a lack of energy, or high levels of stress and fatigue from busy lifestyles. Using a holistic approach to health and development and applying it in a personalized manner, I help female triathletes solve their challenges by equipping them with the practical skills and strategies to get them back on track towards achieving their performance goals, through personalised coaching, guidance and advice.

When I’m not coaching athletes individually, I am applying the same principles of optimising athlete health and well-being to achieve performance success and sustainability with sports clubs, institutes and organisations. I particularly enjoy the opportunity to work with organisations to create high performance systems that are relevant, sustainable and unique to the organisation’s environment; cultivating a high performance culture that values and nurtures the people in it, and focuses on athlete health for performance longevity.

⭐️ S E L F - C A R E ⭐️ This fine steamy morning @frysie27 and I made our come back up on the mountain 🚴🏻‍♀️ Our legs say it’s been far too long! . I rewarded my efforts with a lovely coffee on the Goodwill Bridge afterwards, taking a little time out to soak up the sunshine and the stunning view. 15 mins is all it took to relax, clear my mind, and get set for my day ahead. I’m getting better at taking little micro breaks during the day to stop and smell the roses 🌹enjoy what I’m doing and where I am. . Who else does this? I’ve been reading up on the benefits of this type of self-love (yep - something so simple is classed as self-love! Nothing big and fancy ladies!) on our mental health, and I am convinced. I admit, I’ve been really bad at it in the past, but there’s always the possibility to change right?! What I’m learning is that taking care of ourselves shouldn’t be seen as an indulgence, or a luxury, it should actually be part of our daily routine to remain physically, mentally and emotionally healthy so that we can handle all the things - training, career, family, life. Strength training 🏋🏻‍♀️🥊 . If there’s one thing that my two swim sessions told me this week, it’s that I’ve lost upper body strength! . Not only does it feel like trash when I fatigue quickly in the water, it also really impacts my ability to hold my technique through the session. Which is clearly an issue if I want to avoid practicing bad habits! 🏊🏻‍♀️ . The fix? Strength work! I love cross-training for diversity and building up strength, and both weights and boxing are awesome for that. When I box, I fly through the water! . Do you cross train? What a day! Kicked off this morning with a really interesting and informative breakky seminar hosted by the @qldacademysport SPIKE research center in partnership with Griffith Uni, learning all about female athlete hormones and physiology, and effects of contraceptives on performance. Ladies, we have got some stuff going on!! 💁🏻‍♀️ Seriously, when all exercise research in history has been based on men, we have a long way to go to catchup to understand females equally well, and start unlocking the hormone-performance relationship. It’s such an area of interest for me, so stay tuned - I’ll be dropping some tips and tid bits as I delve deeper into this fascinating area! 🤓 . Who’s keen for more info?!
